Export variables from one file and import them to another. It's great for migrating libraries, or when you downloaded library from the community and you’d like to import or update variables in your existing design system. Supported features All variable types (color, string, number, boolean) Value aliases (when it’s from the same collection) Variable info (description, scopes, code syntax) Multiple modes Update matching collection (instead of adding a new one) Instructions Open plugin in the file with collections that you want to export Export selected collection to JSON Open plugin in the file where you want to import variables into Select or drop collection JSON to plugin Enjoy the collection in a new file 🎉 Updating existing collection (instead of creating duplicates) The plugin now allows updating existing collections. If a collection with a matching name exists, you'll have the option to update it instead of creating a new one. The plugin will attempt to match variables and modes based on their names. If a match is found, the plugin will update the values of those variables. If there are non-matching modes or variables, the plugin will create them. Known limitations References from different collections will get detached. Variable will use correct raw value instead. I plan to add support for cross-referenced variables later. Making changes to your collections in Figma file requires either relaunching the plugin or refreshing the collections. Order of the token gets sometimes exported incorrectly.
